  I am a 45 year old woman with a 17 year old son .My son has suffered with an immune deficiency since birth.We live in So' Lake Tahoe and have used Barton Memorial Hospital for most of our families emergency health issue's.My 17 year old son has chronic, re-occuring shingle's (a very painful virus which stores it's self in your spinal column).When ever your Immune system becomes weak or compromised the nerves in my son's chest actually burn through his top layer of skin creating thousand's of blister's all over the right side of his body,leaving this child in so much pain he cant even talk.Last night 6/7/2013 my son started having a lot of Neuropathy(nerve pain caused by the damage to the nerves from his multiple episode's with shingle's)also he had a temp. of 100 showing he was dealing with a mild infection,we became worried and went to Barton memorial hospital around midnight where we were rudely greeted by Dr.Lance Orr M.D.This visit was soooo absurd, at one point I actually thought this angry southern Doctor was going to punch me in the face.Shingles is not a common virus for people under 60 years of age,so Dr.Orr decided our "story" was" too strange"( even though we had 15 year's of documentation with this hospital) he demanded that we leave the emergency room immidiately (with out recieving any care or being discharged) or he would call the police on us.By now I am getting angry and growing tired of his southern condescending attitude with my son's condition.I asked if this was some bible belt belief in medicine?and immediately this Dr. had me pinned against a wall screaming so loud in face I could smell garlic coming from his mouth.I asked this Dr. if he was going to hit me and he tried to compose himself,all the while pointing to the door screaming for us to leave.The Shingle's virus again is brought on by stress and I am appalled that a Dr. would threaten a mother in front of her sick child other than just reading his record's and treating him.Any how we are back at home now and my son is definitely having an onset of the shingles thanx to the UNNECESSARY stress brought on by Dr. Lance Orr.This man is angry,condescending,judgmental and over all THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL Dr. I have ever come in contact with!!!
